Our Approach

Recovery is not one-size-fits-all. At Talbot House, we focus on the whole person—physical, emotional, social, and spiritual.

Individual Counselling

Residents receive one-on-one counselling tailored to their personal goals, experiences, and challenges. Sessions focus on:

  • Emotional regulation
  • Building purpose and direction
  • Developing coping strategies
  • Relapse Prevention
  • Strengthening healthy relationships

Group Counselling

Connection is at the core of recovery. Through group work, residents:

  • Share openly in a respectful environment
  • Build communication skills
  • Learn from shared experiences
  • Develop accountability and empathy

12-Step Foundations

Residents are introduced to 12-step principles through AA and NA participation. These programs help:

  • Build honesty, humility, and responsibility
  • Offer guidance from those further along in recovery
  • Create lasting support networks beyond Talbot House

Community Living

Talbot House is more than a program—it is a living, supportive community.

Residents learn to:

  • Live respectfully with others
  • Build boundaries and self-awareness
  • Develop daily routines and self-care habits
  • Practice integrity, responsibility, and mutual respect
  • Reconnect with life beyond survival

This environment helps restore what addiction often takes: connection, confidence, structure, and hope.
